Spring has Sprung in Central Kentucky!

It is springtime in Central Kentucky and with it comes the rainy season. With severe weather possibilities, thunderstorms and straight line winds, we would like to remind people to keep an eye on the weather and be prepared to seek shelter.
Almost 2 weeks ago, I got home from work at almost 7pm. I had just enough time to put the horses in the barn and lock the chickens up for the night before the storm hit. In a matter of minutes, there was a heavy downpour and high winds. Winds strong enough to make the roof rattle. The weatherman was telling people in Woodford County, where I reside, to seek shelter due to high winds and lightning strikes. The surrounding counties (Anderson, Fayette, Franklin and Mercer) were being given the same warning…get to an interior room in your house and stay away from windows.
Although this is not some kind of newly prescribed method for staying safe, I realized my house doesn’t have an interior room, closet, or stairwell. The crawl space is a mere 6 inches tall, so it wouldn’t provide me with an escape from the threat of severe weather. I began thinking about an amazing system Weatherization Plus provides…..it’s called CleanSpace.
CleanSpace is a system designed to take a dirty, damp, nasty crawl space and transform it into a clean, dry, useable space (provided you can actually crawl into it). I began to think that this system could actually help people whose houses don’t have any interior rooms. The CleanSpace, combined with the Turtl crawl space hatch, could provide people with an emergency shelter when the weather turns bad and high winds threaten to create tornadoes or rip off roofs. Although CleanSpace is NOT a storm shelter, in an emergency, when seconds count, it could protect you….and your loved ones.
If your house is built on a crawl space and you don’t have an interior room to get into during the severe weather season in Central Kentucky, give us a call and ask about our CleanSpace crawl space system!
