Don’t Be an Energy Hog! Conserve Electricity Where You Can.

With the rising costs of electricity, you may want to pay attention to this blog! After all, would you rather give your money to your local utility giant or keep more of it for yourself?
The top electricity using system in your house is your HVAC system. But, it doesn’t have to be an energy hog.
How is your system running? Have you had it checked recently? If you did, was your unit working well? Probably so. BUT…..yes, there’s that word again….how is your duct work?
As a house settles, the ductwork settles. When the ductwork settles it often begins to separate at the joints and connections. When separation occurs, air leakage occurs. When air leakage occurs, the air you are heating or cooling to keep you comfortable in your home begins to leak into your attic (or crawlspace depending on where your ducts are).
What’s that? You don’t want to heat or cool the attic or crawlspace? Me neither! Since your heating and cooling system uses the most electricity, it is important that the ductwork be sealed and insulated to prevent air leakage. You can also have the ductwork encapsulated which combines the duct sealing and insulation into one awesome system!
The knowledgeable people at Weatherization Plus would be happy to meet with you and inspect your duct system. From there, you will be presented with options fully customized to meet your needs and budget….remember, financing is available so you can have everything fixed at one time!
